Indigenous Peoples are expressing concern about the wavering commitment to reconciliation, and the current Canadian Government has framed the current political moment as “nation-building” with little information of the implications for Indigenous Peoples and workers given ongoing colonial extractivism ang labour exploitation. In this context, we invite you to join us to explore how we can build new forms of solidarity among Indigenous Peoples, workers and the labour movement.

Our workshop facilitators are scholar-activists whose work examines the oppressive roots and ongoing colonization of Indigenous Peoples in their territories, the oppression of unionized and non-unionized workers, and how we can, and must, imagine and create new forms of solidarity in a system that has made us all complicitous in ongoing colonial and capitalist oppression.
