While families face real pressure in our daily lives, large corporations continue to post record-breaking profits. Now, the federal government has introduced legislation that would further weaken workers’ bargaining power, amidst an active trade war.
Bill C-39 would give the government new and expanded powers to intervene and shut down legal strikes. This means more power for employers who don’t want to negotiate fairly, and less power for workers to push for fair wages, safe workplaces, secure jobs, and solutions to the problems we face at work.
Join us this Friday, at the office of MP Terry Beech, to demand that the Carney Liberal government put its elbows up for workers, not the wealthy few and corporate interests.
