Hundreds come together to celebrate May Day, build solidarity

Last night’s May Day Celebration was a big success. Hundreds of participants visited the Maritime Labour Centre over the course of the evening for our largest International Workers Day event in recent memory.

Labour for Palestine for the workshop Internationalism 101: Palestine is a Labour Issue.

Women Transforming Cities for the workshop How Workers Can Drive Change at City Hall.

Worker Solidarity Network for the workshop Climate Change & Heat Protections for Workers.

Re: Sisters, Left Coast Labour Chorus, Spank Williams, and the Swill Merchants for the live musical performances, and Peter Marcus for the poetry recital.

Tamam: Fine Palestinian Cuisine for the delicious food.

Speakers Andy Healey (CUPE 5536), Garth Mullins (VANDU), Julie Diesta (Vancouver Committee for Domestic Workers & Caregivers), and Eddy Pedreira (IATSE 938) for the powerful and inspiring speeches.
