Municipal Candidates: Apply for Labour Endorsement

February 25, 2026

On October 17th, municipal elections will be held across BC. If you are a pro-worker, progressive candidate who is offering your name for election to city council, school board, or park board, you can apply for labour endorsement.

Endorsements are made by vote of delegates representing affiliated local unions, following a thorough vetting process. The process starts with the completion of a questionnaire. This is followed by a brief interview. After this, a recommendation is made by our vetting team and is considered by delegates.

To get started, email president@vdlc.ca to let us know you are running and to request the questionnaire.

The jurisdiction of the VDLC includes Bowen Island, Electoral Area A, Lions Bay, City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver, Pemberton, Richmond, Squamish, Vancouver, West Vancouver, Whistler.
