Tell TransLink to protect the future of HandyDART!

November 18, 2025

On December 3, the TransLink Board  will be making its final decision about whether to bring HandyDART under full government control, or continue contracting out the service to foreign corporations. Riders and workers have been fighting to bring HandyDART in-house for more than a decade, and now is our time to finally bring it home! The Save Our HandyDART Coalition is asking supporters to register to speak at the Board’s upcoming Zoom meeting on December 3 at 9 AM.

Link to register: www.translink.ca/about-us/about-translink/board-of-directors

Deadline to register: Dec 1, 8 AM

Board meeting (held via Zoom): Dec 3, 9 AM

Speakers will each only be given 3 minutes to address the Board, but by taking a few minutes out of your day to attend and make your voice heard will make a huge difference. Here are a few points to consider mentioning:

  • Riders and workers need a system centred on accessibility, not profit
  • Bringing HandyDART in-house would improve service quality, transparency, and accountability
  • The current contracted-out model has led to skyrocketing taxi usage and poorer service
  • Our tax dollars should be used to strengthen public services, not be sent out of the country to foreign corporations

If you have any questions about registering or speaking, feel free to contact ATU Organizer Sarah Maceda-Maciel at smmaciel@atu.org
